APRIL 30, 2008 ISSUE #4 Hello Fellow Integralite, In this newsletter we're going to share the features and benefits that will be available to all of us when the Integral Europe website launches this Summer. Easily find and connect to integral individuals and groups throughout Europe Search the calendar for events that inspire you Read the news blog to stay tuned to what's happening in the integral landscape Find who or what you are looking for! Integral Europe is fundamentally about community - about connecting people up, and creating the kind of cohesion and opportunities that integral activities in Europe could really grow through. To that end, the Integral Europe website will have fully searchable listings of integral individuals, practitioners, groups, organisations and businesses throughout Europe. This means that by visiting the site you can easily find out about and connect to all these activities. But also, by becoming a member, you will put yourself - as well as any group or business that you run - on the European and indeed global integral map. By searching the listings you can find people you already know, as well as make new friends in your region or in other countries. If your region still doesn’t have an integral salon or practice group, simply do a search to find out whether there are other integrally interested individuals nearby who may want to start a new group with you, and just take the initiative! You can also search the listings to locate an integral therapist or another kind of skilled integral practitioner close to you. And finally, why not use the site to get in touch with professionals in other countries who are interested in applying an integral awareness to the the same field that you work in? Events, events, events Wouldn’t it be great to be able to find out about all the integrally inspired events taking place in Europe, and more specifically, in your area? Well, that is exactly what you will be able to do with Integral Europe through a central, user-generated, searchable calendar where all individuals, groups and organisations can upload their own events. The calendar will allow you to find out about cool workshops and conferences that you previously never would have known existed, but that you can now attend. You'll also be able to do everyday tasks, such as checking when your next salon or practice group meeting is taking place. If you are travelling to another European city, use the calendar to check what is happening while you are there. Maybe you can attend a salon meeting or an integrally inspired lecture! And if you're setting up an integral conference or workshop, you'll be able to advertise it on the calendar completely free. So really, there's no excuse now for not running that workshop you've been thinking about! Stay informed To satisfy your appetite for the latest news about the European integral community, the site will have a news blog featuring updates from around the continent. These will include reports from European workshops and groups, major international events, announcements about upcoming tours, articles written by members of the site, and a whole host of other interesting pieces. Reading the news blog will be a simple way for you to stay in touch with what is going on, and to let others know what's going on in your area too. Your very own articles can be featured, perhaps a report about a great salon meeting or recent conference, or a more personal piece about the nature of practice - basically anything that integrally inspires you! Together, we can create a thriving news feed with text, pictures and even videos about what is happening around Europe, and what's happening to you. And more is coming... You now know more about the exciting possibilities that the website will bring as soon as it launches. The site will also be evolving continuously, so more features and social media tools will be implemented over time, and we will tell you more about some of our ideas for these in a forthcoming issue. However, the crucial factor that will affect how the site develops is the feedback we get from users, in other words - from you! The functionality that the community wants and needs is the functionality that we want to create. This is a journey that all of us are taking together.
